A great weekend.

Hey y’all (:
Wow, what a fantastic weekend! After getting off work on Friday evening, I started my weekend by going for a run ( with the weather still being in the high 30’s) I’ve been taking advantage of the “warm” weather and trying to run more. I love running, but during the winter its hard running in the cold, snow, and ice. I guess you could say I’m not a committed runner. (; (except in the summer)

Later Friday night I got to spend some much needed family time, me and my younger siblings played some games and just spent the night in the family-room with good times and laughter.

Me being the middle kid of the family, and having 4 older siblings and 4 younger siblings, I know from experience how it feels to be the baby of the family and yet the oldest. I was the baby for a little while with my 4 older siblings, and now I’ve been the oldest kid living at home for quite awhile. It’s an interesting feeling being treated the baby and the oldest at the same time, but I’m content where the Lord put me. (:

On Saturday me and my mama did some shopping, which was great! I was able to find quite a few new skirts for me and my sister, at a good price. My mama bought a salad spinner ( I personally had never heard of such a thing) she got it at a good price as well! Nothing says anything quite like 2 women who got what they where out looking for and able to make a good deal on the items, success! (;

Speaking of kitchen utensils, what is you're favorite or most used item in you're kitchen? I personally love just a good ole wooden spoon, and what I like about it is just about everyone has at least one good wooden spoon they like using! (:

My Saturday evening I spent doing some house cleaning, and washing laundry, it’s nice just spending most of you’re weekend at home. Even if your cleaning or working on random projects that often need to be done in a family our size, there is just something about taking a break from the busy "week life".

I enjoyed going to my younger brother and sister school play/ dinner theater Saturday night. Even though we are homeschooled, my 4 younger siblings attend an extra curriculum christian academy. The play they performed in was phenomenal; it was a humorous version of the tale of Robin Hood.

(Some of the cast from the play)

I was very impressed with my brother and sister acting capabilities. They came out of their “box” and really put on a great show, I know I myself would not have been able to do so. I’m a very proud big sister! (:

Church yesterday morning was cancelled due to ice rain which made the roads not drivable. Even though it was an unexpected, disappointing weather change, I do believe the Lord blessed it because it was great to do a personal family church service at home. I love listening to my daddy teach/ preach the Word, or just read a few verses to us. It is a blessing to have such godly parents who know the importants of teaching the family about the Bible.

Daddy did something a little different then what we normally do in these cases, he read through part of a Charles H. Spurgeon sermon. I always enjoy Spurgeons work. I’m so thankful for men in history or even in these modern times that God truly uses to bring out His Word.

I finished up my Sunday with watching a movie with my mama, playing games with my family, talking to a great friend, and writing part of this! (;

Got off work early today, which i'm using my extra time to read a couple books and work on editing some of my photo's.

I hope you're weekend was a wonderful one!

Winter, Devotion, My Work

Hey (: Ah yes sunshine, its sad when 35 degrees feels more on the warm side. I guess that comes with living in the Midwest. The winters here can be so cold, dreary, and cloudy, so I do enjoy any ounce of sunshine I can get during these cold months!

I started my morning at 6am, it was quite the battle trying to force my self to wake up and get out of my warm bed. Once I fully woke up, I read the morning devotion by Charles H. Spurgeon, it was very good! It talked about when we get sad, gloomy and in such a mood, that we need to remember the love of God, and that joyous moment when He freed us from the chains of our sins! “Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed”-John 8:36 we need to have hope, because His love and mercy never ends and never fails us. I was excited to see the verse I chose to be my personal verse of 2013 quoted at the end of this devotional.
"The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness."- Lamentations 3:22-23 if you’re a believer that verse alone should make you filled with hope and excitement! I was greatly encouraged by Spurgeon’s devotional this morning!

Running on 5 hour’s of sleep, I have had already 2 cups of coffee and a cup of caffeinated tea. Still going strong (: Being a nanny of 2 little boys is an amazing job, but at times tiring! I tend not to have as much hyper energy as they produce each and every morning. (: But I adore the boys, after watching a baby and a toddler most of the day, you really relies how much work and time it is in being a mother or father. It is definitely hard but very rewarding, with the cute little smiles they give, and with the craziest, cutest things little ones will say! From my little experience I have, I know I’d prefer having all boys if I have a family of my own someday. Crazy of a thought it might be, but I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what the Lord has in mind! Hope you are enjoying the blog thus far, have a good day! (:

P.S I actually did not take this photo, this was shot by my daddy. Photographer's run in the family I guess. (:

Hey everyone (:
First day blogging, slightly confused on how to work the website. :P But with time I figure I’ll get the hang of this. I am so glad that the weekend is upon us! Me and my mama plan to do some thrift store shopping on Saturday, which is always fun. Not only getting to shop and find good deals but the quality time with my mama is great, I love it. She is such a godly example in my life, I go to her for all sorts of things but I cherish the times when we can just relax and have girl time. Speaking of girl time, my oldest sister is getting married this summer. As you can imagine there is all sorts of planning going on in our house hold. We are going to have the bridal shower in a month, so I’m trying to prepare all different kinds of cheesy, bridal, girly games that are always at these sorts of things (; I definitely enjoy planning a party. Especially for my sister who is my best friend!
